LCC expands East to Canary Wharf

We are pleased to announce the addition of a new site to our London Climbing Centres. CanaryWall sits right underneath Westferry DLR station (on the edge of the Canary Wharf Estate) and is composed of 4 railway arches as well as a yard and an extra building for reception, gym and cafe.  This centre will be the same size as the original VauxWall West and we are excited to bring our 5 ½ years of knowledge of the London climbing scene to create a beautifully formed climbing wall for this area of London. We start the build work in December and hope to open by May 2020 with a further goal to expand into a 5th arch later on in the year.

As always, it has been a very difficult process to find a convenient location that is not already served by a local climbing centre. Finding a suitable location of the right size, shape, with an amenable council to secure planning permission and that is financially viable is extremely challenging within London. The city does not give up suitable Climbing wall properties easily! Even with our many years of experience within our management team we still find the challenges endless, but our perseverance has paid off and we are excited to add to the London climbing scene in this part of East London. We really hope that CanaryWall will add to the location choices for London climbers as well as add extra variety to our current LCC London members.

We are super excited about this new wall and will update you all with plans, photos and dates as we progress into the New Year. As for all our London centres, current LCC Monthly members and Punch card holders will be able to use them at CanaryWall when it opens. We look forward to offering you all the option of One Membership, Six Centres in 2020.
