New Career Opportunities at London’s Largest Climbing Wall Group

VauxWall, HarroWall, CroyWall and RavensWall are facilities of The Lakeland Climbing Centre Limited.  We are driven by our passion for climbing and the positive effects it can bring to everyone’s lives. Our London facilities set a new standard for accessible, clean and constantly evolving indoor climbing.

As part of The Lakeland Climbing Centre’s 2019 London expansion from three sites to five we are now looking to expand the HarroTeam, Regional Route Setting Team in addition to recruiting a full CroyWall Team and RavensWall Team. Lots of opportunities exist to join the LCC family.

CroyWall is a 10,000 sqft bouldering centre situated on Purley Way, Croydon. It is 5 minute walk from Wandle Park Tram Station. It is due to open early in January 2019. Similar in size to VauxWall East in Kennington

RavensWall is a 12,000 sqft bouldering centre situated at Ravenscourt Park Station on the District line. It is due to open mid-March 2019.

In partnership with our customers, staff, sponsors and suppliers we have created and continue to develop friendly, efficient and safety conscious centres of excellence for bouldering that everyone can enjoy. Strong links with our site in Kendal will provide opportunities for customers and staff to continue their journey into the diverse sport of climbing in the stunning Lake District National Park.

 

Vacancies

Regional Route setting team

Our climbing walls are our number one product, we take great pride in the variety of route setters, climbing holds and turnover to ensure we keep our climbers challenged and engaged. Applicants should be creative, diligent and passionate about climbing and route setting with a committed approach. These positions will be during the weekday with the possibility of some weekend & evening work.

Positions available:

LCC Route Setting Team Member x 1 (Part time avg.16hours per week)

Working across all LCC walls with other route-setters to make creative and interesting routes that are consistent within each location. These routes must meet the needs and requirements of our customers. Additionally, you will be responsible for the set and in charge of other setters on the day, adhering to the safety procedures and guidelines in place. Other tasks will include stripping and washing of routes at different sites. For this role we are looking for a passionate climber with route setting experience. Further training will be provided.


 

HarroWall

Unit 2a Neptune Road HA1 4HX – Opened February 2018

Positions available:

HarroWall Café Supervisor x 1

(Part Time 25-30 hours per week focused on evenings and weekends)

HarroWall is a brand new Climbing Centre that is the largest of its type in the UK. At the heart of the centre is the desire to offer our customers a memorable food and drink experience along with a world class climbing session. You will support the Café manager in the development and delivery of the HarroCafe menu and grow the café into the social hub of the centre for climbers, families and party groups. The cafe and kitchen is equipped with a pizza oven and sufficient space to expand the menu.


 

CroyWall and RavensWall 

(opening 2019)

Positions available:

CroyWall Centre Manager x 1 (Full time)

£26,000 – £28,000 dependent on experience in addition to annual profit share bonus.

As the Centre manager you are the leader of a small multifunctional team within a larger network on London climbing centres. Your focus is on creating and maintaining a customer centric solutions focused team. You will directly manage all operations including scheduling and weekly banking whilst being an exemplary Duty Manager in all the day to day operations including the reception, café and shop with additional responsibilities including marketing, customer engagement and bookings admin.

 

CroyWall Duty Manager (multiple full & part time positions available)

RavensWall Duty Manager (multiple full & part time positions available)

As part of a small multifunctional team the role of Duty Manager is central to the effective running of the Centre. You will be responsible for the provision of a safe, fun and welcoming climbing environment. When on duty you will directly manage the day to day operations including the reception, café and shop with additional responsibilities including cleaning and administrative tasks. There is potential to be involved in both the instruction and route setting programme.

 

CroyWall Team Member (multiple full & part time positions available)

RavensWall Team Member (multiple full & part time positions available)

Working with the Duty Manager and on your own initiative you are expected to provide an exceptional level of customer service in all centre operations. A significant part of this role will be instruction delivering inductions, coaching and the junior programme. There is potential to be involved in the route setting programme.
